Illustration Friday - Bottled

I was saying in a response to the lovely people who commented on my last post I have an idea I’d love to do for “bottled” but time is rushing by on this one and by the time I could do it justice it will be a new word. I actually did this image some time ago in my Children’s book illustration course as one of my activities and I remembered it when the topic name came up so I thought I would go with it instead of my other idea…. Well long story short, here is my entry this week, I hope you like it & thanks for visting!

  8. Very sweet and summery, I can see myself there under that palmtree, nejoying the warm sand ;) ...but now I'm curious as to what your other idea was!

  9. You are forgiven for posting an older piece, we all feel the pressure of coming up with yet more genius before the next 'word' comes screaming down the pike :0
This neat art makes me want to bust out the construction paper and mucilage myself, and give this quaint style a whirl. Thanks!

  12. Wow, what a wonderful response thank you everyone!
Cindy & surreptitiousstudios, I did initially find it tricky cutting the paper but ended up quite enjoying it, I’m certainly not as intricate with my cutting as some people are!
Michele & Trudette, my inspiration was to capture something that felt Australian for me and beaches sprung to mind (but I think these are heavily inspired by holidays to nice tropical island locales as well :-)) and Ted and JA I hope you have as much fun as I did when I originally did this if you revisit this style, it felt great to think it might have inspired you to something you would enjoy. Thanks again everyone, I love your feedback and wonderful encouragement.
